The Falkirk Plan

The Falkirk Plan is the framework that captures the vision and commitment of the Falkirk Community Planning Partnership to work together with communities to reduce poverty, tackle inequality, and improve the quality of life for everyone in the Falkirk area.

In developing the Plan, we’ve made sure we’ve listened to communities to identify their priorities.

What is the plan?

The Plan has been developed by community planning partners, based on research together with what communities have told us are the issues that are most important to them. Based on that, the Plan identifies six priority areas – or Themes:

  • Working in Partnership with Communities
  • Poverty
  • Mental Health and Wellbeing
  • Substance Use
  • Gender-Based Violence
  • Economic Recovery
These Themes are the focus of the Community Planning Partnership until 2030, the Plan will be reviewed every three years to ensure the priorities continue to focus on the changing needs of the communities across Falkirk.

In implementing the Falkirk Plan, we’re 100% committed to measure and evaluate what we do, so that we’re responsive and adaptable.
We will regularly share progress of the six themes and the impact these are making across Falkirk.

What is the plan?

Local communities are an integral part of our Community Planning Partnership. Locality planning is when we work together to improve the lives of the local community and the areas they live in. Locality planning enables local people to actively participate in service planning for their own communities, and allows public services to make better use of their resources by working together.

Locality planning also means that we will be able to engage more effectively with local communities about how they can help support the services that are important to them. There are nine wards in the Falkirk area, you can find out more about locality planning and the work of the Community Planning Partnership in that ward. You can use the map opposite to view each ward and click through to learn more.
